After the unprecedented success of our Oakless Reserve Chardonnay we decided to commit our entire family resources and passion to making the ultimated Oak Aged Chardonnay as well.  Using the finest barrels produced in France along with half of the best grapes our vineyards produce ( the other half goes to the Oakless Reserve) we were able to create a true masterpiece with the 2008 ... Given the popularity of the 2005 vineyard designate and the 2006 Foppoli Reserve, we did not deviate from the original production methods of making this wine entirely in stainless steel, left sur lie for 85-days, and no malolactic fermentation. Our 1470 is a tribute to the 538 years since our family moved into the grape growing regions of Northern Italy and began producing wine. It is oakless like the Foppoli reserve but in contrast we take it through malolactic fermentaion to give it a creamy soft mouth feel.  It is a great spring time wine.  At only 151 cases released, it will only be availble for a very limited time.
